DIY: Vintage Button iphone Case

IMG_1764

After not being able to find an iPhone case I really liked I decided to make my own. I have a ton of vintage buttons (for some reason I can’t walk past a jar without buying them), so I decided to experiment with putting them on a phone case.

Materials Needed:
Phone case
Buttons
Gorilla Glue

Start out with any plain phone case with a smooth surface

First add buttons around the camera hole (this will help with placement later)

As you continue adding buttons, you’ll probably notice that you have small holes where the buttons don’t quite fit together correctly…

This is actually a perfect place for those buttons that don’t lay flat. Find one that fits in the hole..

Add glue all around the edges and drop it into the hole

Continue to add and layer buttons until your case is fully covered..

It gets a little more difficult as you get to the end to find buttons that fit properly, but don’t be afraid to stack them, they will stick up a little, but it’s not as distracting as you might expect it to be. Your finished product should look something like this:

This awesome project really doesn’t take a lot of time (just patience), and if you can do it, you’ll have a one of a kind phone case!

If you don’t feel like making your own, I have them on sale in my Etsy shop here
